UKL Developments Terry Seirlis is a Brisbane based developer and the visionary behind Warwick’s’ Aleva Estate, a residential precinct at the heart of Warwick which offers a great community feel to those who live there. As sales of the estate ramp up, Terry has plans for more development and investment in Warwick. We caught up with Mr Seirlis to talk all things Aleva.
Q: When did you first identify the Aleva Estate development opportunity?
TS: Aleva Estate was actually brought to me by one of my business connections in Brisbane in 2017 who knew I was in the market to do a residential development in Queensland country. As a former far north Queenslander who grew up on a cane farm, I’d been looking at opportunities further north but Warwick ticked all the boxes for me. The rose city has immense rural charm, it’s an easy drive from Brisbane and I sensed there would be increasing demand for housing.
Q. Why did you believe in Warwick’s potential?
TS: It offers great local hospitality, beautiful countryside, and lots to do. Warwick really is an undiscovered Australian regional town with enormous potential.
Q: What would you describe as Aleva’s greatest qualities?
TS: Aleva has so many great qualities. Geographically, it offers a rural setting with large blocks of land, elevated views and it’s walking distance to Warwick’s town centre. We offer a wide variety of design options and the feedback I’ve received from homebuyers is that it has a great community feel.
Q: Aleva was all vacant land just a few years ago, how does it feel to see it taking shape?
TS: It’s been a really rewarding experience. It’s important to me to make the whole Aleva experience as fuss free as possible so that homebuyers never lose that feeling of wonder and excitement they feel when they decide to purchase or build their dream home. I enjoy the process of helping people make one of the most important decisions of their lives. There is a real community feel at Aleva which is exactly what I wanted. Seeing people living there and enjoying the neighbourhood has been a career highlight.
Q: Now I understand that Aleva’s name has a special place in your heart?
TS: Yes, that’s right, Aleva is an amalgamation of my daughters’ names, Alex and Eva. Aleva will always be a keepsake for our daughters. For my wife Imogen and I, family is everything, and we wanted to infuse the development with a family feel. Our family has kept a number of homes at Aleva so in a sense we’re a part of the community. Warwick is like another home for us.
Q: How important is customer service to you?
TS: Customer service is very important to me. It isn’t just selling homes, it’s helping people achieve their dreams.
Q: What other Queensland regional developments have you worked on?
TS: In 2010 I was involved in a 12-lot subdivision in Cairns.
Q: We know Aleva estate is drawing interest from outside the Warwick area, where are these people looking to relocate from?
TS: Most of the enquiries of this type have come from Brisbane and Queensland’s east coast. There are a lot of people looking for a green change and Warwick is the perfect place for it.
Q: Why do you think so many people are looking for this ‘green change’ right now?
TS: Well as COVID continues to be a problem in cities across the country, rural centres like Warwick offer fresher air, country hospitality and an easier way of life. House prices are also surging in cities like Brisbane, and I think it’s this mix that is making people consider regional locations.
Q: Now that stage 1 is selling well, when would you expect to get started on stage 2?
TS: If all goes to plan, we are hoping to get started on Aleva Estate Stage 2 early next year.
For a neighbourhood lifestyle, set among beautiful open spaces and surrounded by endless opportunities, Aleva Estate is the place you will want to call home.
