Dan Morrish is a Warwick local who has grown up in the area and appreciates the many opportunities that the town has provided for him. He is a plant operator with the Southern Downs Regional Council and now thanks to Aleva Estate he has been given the opportunity to purchase his first home at just 23 years of age. Building a sense of community is important to developer UKL’s Terry Seirlis so we caught up with Dan to find out what he loves about Aleva Estate.
Q: Are you from Warwick originally?
A: Yeah, I am from Warwick. From just outside of town actually.
Q: What do you like about living in Warwick?
A: Warwick is in the middle of a hub, Stanthorpe and Toowoomba are both only short drives away and then you’ve also got Brisbane which is only two hours away. Plus, I grew up here and have had some great opportunities come my way with work. Warwick is really starting to grow now as well, there are a lot of people starting to move here from out of town.
Q: Is this the first home you have bought?
A: Yeah, this is my first home. It felt like a big achievement to do it by myself.
Q: Why did you choose Aleva Estate?
A: Originally my friend got me into the estate, we are building right next door to each other. But I quickly realised there is a lot of expansion and growth potential here at Aleva. You can see that other people are starting to notice it with all the houses that are being built here now. I really liked the big blocks that were available as well.
Q: What benefits does Aleva Estate have?
A: The large blocks for sure that mean you can build a good house and still have room for a backyard. The infrastructure here is good, the roads and pathways are really well taken care of. But my favourite part is the location. I have work just up the road and we are so close to the CBD you could walk there.
Q: You have a friend right next door so how do you feel about the sense of community at Aleva Estate?
A: The community here is great, yeah, I have a friend right next door and you always see kids out playing together in the street.
Q: How did the prices at Aleva compare with the rest of Warwick?
A: Warwick is booming at the moment. Even just to rent here can easily cost upwards of $380 a week. Buying here has also become super competitive, there are lots of houses getting snatched up by people buying from Victoria and New South Wales. Once I sat down and worked out the costs, I realised that buying a house and land package at Aleva was actually going to be cheaper for me than trying to rent anywhere in Warwick.
Q: How was the sales process?
A: I just messaged Terry Seirlis, the developer of the Estate, through the Aleva Estate website and he replied within two hours. Then it was easy from there.
Q: How did Terry help you, that made it so much easier?
A: He was just great. Whenever I needed anything, he was there to answer my questions and just guided me through the whole process. He kept in contact the whole time which is what made it so much easier for me.
